Our festival is a "bring your lawn chair affair". It features jazz music, both Smooth & Contemporary and Straight Ahead from nationally known artists, and is free and open to the public. Our family-friendly atmosphere includes Arts & Crafts Vendors, a Kid Zone, community resources, and of course a variety of food trucks and vendors. This year we'll also celebrate the 50th anniversary of WFSK, Nashville's Jazz Station.

Limmie Pulliam In Recital - Make Them Hear You: A Spiritual Journey

Hot on the heels of his spectacular Carnegie Hall debut, the incredibly talented tenor Limmie Pulliam and pianist Mark Markham will bring an evening of spirituals on Juneteenth at Schermerhorn Symphony Center. A dramatic tenor, Pulliam thrills audiences with his captivating stage presence and his powerful yet intimate sound. He recently made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera, where he became the first African American in the Met’s history to perform the role of Radamès in Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida. JUNETEENTH615 Freedom Fireworks (at) Fort Negley Park

Juneteenth615 is Nashville’s celebration of the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States. The holiday was first celebrated in Texas on June 19, 1865. Juneteenth615 is the official historical Juneteenth celebration for the city of Nashville. The celebration is powered by FELLAVISION + AFRICAN AMERICAN CULTURAL ALLIANCE (AACA) in collaboration with and various other community partners. This event is held annually on June 19th at Fort Negley Park in Nashville, TN and is open to the community at large and families are encouraged to attend. There will be live entertainment, food trucks, vendors, an official proclamation ceremony, and a FIREWORKS presentation to close the night!

Black Lemonade, Founded in June of 2020 in response to the indifference in the world, sets out to turn lemons into lemonade for our minority and underserved communities.

Juneteenth is a federally recognized holiday that commemorates the day that Black men and women were freed from slavery. It’s a day where many will reflect, remember, learn, share, and even mourn.
Nevertheless it is a time of celebration!

Come ride with us for the Juneteenth Freedom Day bike ride on Saturday June 17th. Riders will meet at Frankie Pierce Park at 6:45 am and the rides start at 7:30 am! The organizations involved in this year's event are Bike For Equality, Black Girls Do Bike, Oasis Bike Works, Walk Bike Nashville, Music City Dope Peddlers and Nashville Black Wellness Collective. There will be a 25 mile self guided marked route and a 10 mile group/family ride led by the Music City Dope Peddlers. Each registration comes with a ride pin and number and an event T-shirt. There will be raffles and giveaways at the event and snacks and water along the ride. Register for this amazing event, you don't want to miss out!
